THE ROLE
This is a brilliant opportunity for two Assistant Accountants to join our professional finance team.
This role requires solid hands-on experience and a high level of focus to ensure the monthly accounts are delivered accurately and on time.
Joining a close-knit team, you will be across all facets of the finance function, and have opportunities to develop and showcase your talents.
This role is responsible for preparing monthly reconciliations and BAS returns, assisting with developing annual budgets, preparing a weekly cash flow, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date organisational record keeping. Being part of a small team, this role is required to be familiar with all operational facets of the finance function and provide direct support to the various roles within the team and to provide backup support during times of leave and high demand.
This role is open to candidates Australia-wide.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are well-versed in month end accounting procedures and may have experience in processing payroll, accounts payable or have extensive bookkeeping skills. You will also be able to work confidently with finance data, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work efficiently towards tight deadlines.
You will thrive in this role if you have good communication and relationship building skills and a passion for the environment.
Experience in a for-purpose/not-for-profit context will be highly regarded as will experience with Salesforce or other CRM databases.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated person to optimise the financial management accounting and reporting obligations of council, including a central role in preparing and maintaining the integrity of council’s Annual Operating Plan & Estimates.
As Management Accountant you will be responsible for assisting staff and senior management in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data and minimising risks. You will oversee accounting procedures and prepare forecasts, budgets and risk analysis and be both a strategist and decision maker with an exceptional mathematical mind combined with a strong business orientation.
A salary between $90,527.75 and $104,401.62 (plus 12½% superannuation) is offered for this position.

As Accountant you will be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate financial information and advice to key stakeholders in GPAP.
There is a strong emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, tracking expenditure to specific funding and report development. The role is equally focussed on financial accounting, being responsible for data integrity, postings, reconciliations and reporting.
The Accountant works closely with the GPAP Leadership Team and supports the Finance Manager and COO in implementing improvements in financial policy and processes to enhance decision making, strengthen financial controls and improve efficiencies.

You will have accounting qualifications, be CPA and CA certified (or working towards) and at least three years’ experience in a similar role.
