Bloggers use RSS Feed (Really Simple Syndication) as a means of syndicating their blog posts. In fact, any website can use RSS Feed for almost any type of media content including videos and podcasts.

When a reader subscribes to a blog’s feed, they will be able to read that blog’s content without having to go to the site. So if you subscribe to many blogs, you don’t have to visit each site which can be time-consuming. Instead, you go to a website that collects all the feeds of sites making it more efficient for you to read all your favourite blogs in one place.

RSS is an important part of blogs when it comes to increasing traffic because it gives readers the convenience of reading your blog without having to go to it. Although it seems rather contradictory to say having more RSS readers (who don’t visit your blog) increases blog traffic, the number of RSS readers you have shows that your blog is worth reading. People are attracted by crowds and they will go where many people go since it implies that it must be something worthwhile.
Full VS Partial RSS Feed
Opinions are divided as to whether providing full blog posts is better than a summary. Providing full posts in feeds means readers probably won’t visit your blog thereby reducing the traffic count. It also makes it very easy for your content to be stolen.
